Pet Adoption Groups Receive Grant from Petfinder.com Foundation and GreaterGood.org

Funds will assist with group's spay/neuter program for cats.

Four Petfinder.com members have been awarded a spay/neuter grant, totaling $23,000.00 from The Animal Rescue Site’s Gifts That Give More™ program for the center's on-site spay and neuter clinic.  Spaying or neutering cats addresses the overpopulation of cats and kittens and gives those already in shelters a greater chance of being adopted.

Gifts That Give More™ is a program of GreaterGood.org, an independent charitable organization devoted to addressing the health and well-being of people, animals, and the planet.  The spay/neuter grants are being distributed through the Petfinder.com Foundation, and all recipients are Petfinder.com member organizations.

“We know that animal welfare groups are often strapped for funds,” says Elizabeth Neuschatz, executive director of the Petfinder.com Foundation, “so we're particularly grateful that GreaterGood.org has stepped up with grants to assist with spay/neuter programs that could easily be cut back during tough economic times when even basic operating funds for food and shelter are in more jeopardy than usual.”

“We’re delighted to help Petfinder.com Foundation assist even more shelters.  The need for free or reduced cost spay and neuter programs has never been greater,” said Tim Kunin, CEO of The Animal Rescue Site.

To contribute to the Spay/Neuter or other animal rescue Gifts That Give More™ offered by the GreaterGood Network, visit www.theanimalrescuesite.org. All gifts are tax deductible.

The Animal Rescue Site began in 2002. As well as the grants provided through Gifts That Give More™, the  purple “Click Here to Give -- It’s Free” button at the Web site has funded millions of bowls of food for animals in shelters.
