Barks of Love: KONG Toys Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We were granted KONG toys for our foster dogs. These toys were given to size-appropriate dogs for play and enrichment.

This grant helped us give something to the dogs who have high energy to keep them busy, and our dogs currently in boarding who need something to stimulate their brains through play. We will also be giving these Kongs to adopters when these dogs, and future rescues, are adopted.

How many pets did this grant help?

Currently we were able to help seven dogs (one high-energy dog in foster care and six dogs who are either currently in boarding or were boarders in the past instead of in foster homes)

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Annie is a border collie with high energy who needed something to help her learn to play in her foster home. Annie was rescued from a high[-intake] shelter off the Rescue Only list. Her foster family adores her so much, they have adopted her! She loves the Kong toy. It keeps her busy and focused and she enjoys the challenge of getting the treat inside. Thank you, Kong, for helping us provide stimulation and fun for our rescued dogs.
