How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The Kongs were used for kennel enrichment for our dogs at the shelter. Part of our vision is to get the dogs rehomed within 60 days. Sometimes, however, that doesn't happen and some dogs are here for months. These dogs in particular are desperate for stimulation. While we have volunteers who walk our dogs twice a day, seven days a week, these dogs still need a lot of interaction to keep them from developing any issues.

The Kongs are a wonderful way to offer the dogs enrichment when they are in their kennels and get out for walks only twice a day.

Harris is a young, fun-loving guy who has been at the shelter since early June 2016. He’s a curious and friendly boy and is impatiently awaiting his own family. Harris loves to play and interact with people and other dogs. His huge energy and big brain means he’s always in need of stimulation. The Kongs have offered him a wonderful way to use both!
