Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

This grant helped us provide food and supplies to the foster family who cared for, and did an amazing job helping, Mama Cleo, a German shepherd, and her seven puppies (first photo). This grant came in right at the time her puppies were born and provided us with additional funds to prepare for the high cost of high-quality food that was prepared for Mama daily. She ate 6 lbs. of raw food a day! The Petfinder Foundation grant was definitely a huge help with this rescue. And the great news is that Mama and all of her puppies have since been adopted once the puppies were 10 weeks old. The right food sure made for some big and healthy babies!

This grant also helped one very deserving senior shelter dog get the emergency dental surgery he needed, as his broken canine teeth were at high risk for infection and needed to come out as soon as possible. This grant gave us that extra cushion to be able to get Lobo the Siberian husky his surgery; he has since been adopted and is living a very happy forever-after with his new forever husky sister and human family (second photo)!

This grant also helped us help another senior in need who was surrendered by his owner to the shelter at about 11 years of age. Mighty is a small Maltese mix who was surrendered to the shelter in deplorable condition (third photo). This grant gave us extra resources with which to get him the medical attention, grooming and foster care he needed to be ready for his new home. He too has since been adopted thanks to the additional funds given via this grant. He now lives happily in a beautiful pack (fourth photo) with a mom who loves him VERY much!
