Animal Ark Rescue: P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We received a supply of soft bedding for our animals to use.

We get the majority of our animals from Animal Control, and they come here after spending their "hold" time in the shelter in runs with cement floors. Stressed is the best word to describe these animals when they arrive at the Ark. It is so helpful to be able to comfort the dog, and after basic medical attention, we put them in a crate with a soft bed, fresh water and a supply of food.

How many pets did this grant help?

These are used over and over again, and have held up well with the constant washing and drying we do at the shelter. Easily more than 100 animals have used these beds.

One little fellow, Andie, was a snippy little dog, and he was NOT happy when taken off the truck from Animal Control. We handled him carefully, and eventually got him in a crate. He snuggled down on his new P.L.A.Y. bed and was very content.
