City of Peru Animal Care & Control: WAHL Grooming Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Bathing canines that entered our facility to prepare for adoptions and meet/greets.

Our facility is a government-run organization with minimal budget dollars available for grooming needs. We rely on donations for things of that nature. We were able to bathe every dog that was brought in. Sometimes multiple times for dogs with a longer stay. This was done in preparation for adoption events and meet & greets. Between the time that we received the product and the time the reporting was due, we were able to help 13 dogs. More will continue to be helped.

How many pets did this grant help?

13 currently, with more to come!

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Jack, formerly Walter, looked a mess when he arrived at our facility. No one would think that a dog would feel better in looking better, but Jack did! After being bathed, he seemed to prance around more and really come to life. Jack is still looking for a PAWFECT HOME but it will be much easier now that he looks like a million bucks Our other buddy is Scrappy. Scrappy was a ball of matted fur. He has been bathed and groomed a bit and looks like a totally different dog. We have three applications on him since his new pictures have been posted. THANK YOU for your help!!
