Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Lucy was an outdoor-only beagle who had been used for breeding and found herself homeless after her owner died. No one knew her name, so we named her Lucy. At the age of 12, she had several medical issues: She was unfixed; had a mammary tumor, roundworms, hookworms, a large, infected hot spot and rotting teeth; was positive for Lyme disease and heartworm; and was not vaccinated. Her medical transformation took several months, and the grant was used specifically for the dental cleaning and removal of several rotten teeth. Lucy has been successfully adopted and renamed Sophie, and she is thriving. She enjoyed spending her first winter indoors! I have included photos of her sleeping on a chair for the first time in her life and seeing Lake Michigan for the first time as well. As you can imagine, she has had many firsts in her new life!
