We received 10 Kongs.

This Kong grant has enriched our dogs’ lives, challenged their minds, and helped to relieve any stress and anxiety they might feel as they transition into our program and into family life. Additionally, because we did not have to spend money on toys, we were able to divert our funds into rescuing more animals.

How many pets did this grant help?

This grant helps an unlimited number of dogs, as the Kongs are washable and reusable.

The dog in the attached photo, Mia, is a dog we rescued in May of 2017. Her leg was severely injured, the skin on her ribcage was flayed open, and she had gravel and cuts on her face. We believe she was probably hit by a car. We took her into our program and, in an effort to save her leg, we put a rod in her leg that restricts her mobility. Because she struggles to accept other dogs, she was not a good candidate for a foster home, so she stayed at the Adoption Center with the staff. But, as busy as we are, it’s not the most fun a dog can have, and she can get a little bored. Treats in a Kong are a big deal to Mia right now! We’re glad to have this supply for her, the other dogs in our program, and many more to come! Thank you, Petfinder Foundation, for the generous gift and helping our dogs!
