Happy Home Animal Sanctuary: Sponsor a Pet Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The $25 we received from Luna's sponsor was used to help with the expense of feeding Luna during the weeks she was in foster care.

The majority of our adoptable pets are in foster care until adopted, so food, cat litter, and other supplies are a major expense.

How many pets did this grant help?

One.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Luna was rescued after she had been shot with a BB gun. She had extensive surgery and a leg amputation. After being released from the hospital, she spent several weeks in a foster home, recovering. She has been adopted. From her Petfinder profile: “I’m a 2-year-old girl who has been through a lot. My former owner let me outside and I was shot with a BB gun. I had many injuries, including a broken leg. My owner could not take care of me, so Happy Home stepped in. My leg had to be amputated and my wounds cleaned up. I also have a cloudy eye. I lived in a foster home during my recovery and now I’m ready for a forever home. My foster mom says I can do everything other cats do and have no special needs.”
