Cache Humane Society: Orvis Dog Enrichment Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We are so grateful to Orvis and the Petfinder Foundation for helping us get some of our older dogs home. We used our grant to fund reduced adoption fees on all dogs over 7 years old. We were able to lower our $175 adoption fee to $125. We advertised with colorful "Sponsored by Orvis" kennel tags, which helped attract even more attention.

This grant has allowed us to sponsor 20 senior dogs in our care. To date, 12 dogs have been adopted. We are continuing this special and looking at additional ways to keep this important campaign going.

Comet came to us with an amazing backstory. Her owner told us she was a champion Iditarod racer, originally brought all the way from France. He bought her for breeding and surrendered her at 9 years old to our facility when she was no longer producing litters. We wanted to give her the retirement she deserved, with a comfortable and loving home. With your support, we were able to promote Comet´s sponsored adoption fee and quickly find her a great home.
