Every Petfinder Pet Deserves a Kuranda Bed
The Petfinder.com Foundation has teamed up with Kuranda USA to provide Petfinder.com member animal shelters across the country with a soft, dry place for their homeless dogs to sleep.
Thousands of dogs in animal shelters across the country sleep on cold, wet concrete floors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Dogs are staying in shelters longer, sometimes months or years on end, sometimes a lifetime. With that responsibility comes new standards of caring for dogs in kennels. Enrichment starts with bedding. Having a clean, dry place to rest can make a huge difference in the quality of life of a shelter dog. With a Kuranda bed to sleep on they are less stressed and become more adoptable.
The photos to the right show how shelter dogs can get rest comfortably when given a Kuranda bed. This sweet dog was a little apprehensive when he first came into the shelter, but took to his new, donated bed almost immediately.
You can help donate a bed to a shelter dog! Your support of the “Every Petfinder Pet Deserves a Kuranda Bed” program will help us provide a soft, dry place for homeless dogs to sleep as part of a new Petfinder.com Foundation grant. A $60 donation will provide a bed to a medium size dog and $65 for a large dog. For another $30 each, you can upgrade to a new, strong aluminum version for the most-determined of chewers! But, please remember that a donation of any amount will help provide a bed to a shelter dog!
